Charity Is a No-Brainer

Every year, DevCore donates a substantial sum of money to charity. We choose to give to organizations that we feel do important work and that are close to our hearts.

We've run campaigns such as competitions and polls to help decide which charities to support. Beyond larger lump-sum donations, we also give smaller amounts sporadically to organizations that catch our interest.

Some of the efforts we've been part of include contributions to Ukraine, taking part in Movember (Mustaschkampen) for many years, volunteer work in the archipelago, and giving Christmas donations to organizations like the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund, WWF, and BRIS. Read more below.

DevCore becomes a long-term partner with the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund, 2024

Children and cancer don't belong together. That's why DevCore now supports and partners with the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund (Barncancerfonden), as a long-term partner since March 2024.

The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund works to fight childhood cancer and ensure that affected children and their families get the care and support they need. We're proud to contribute to that.

Every day, a child is diagnosed with cancer. But there is hope — 85 percent of children survive. We're supporting the Fund's work so even more children can survive and go on to live long, good lives.

During the 2023 Movember campaign, we donated 12,000 SEK to The Swedish Prostate Cancer Federation 💙🙏

Over twenty colleagues grew (or wore fake) mustaches throughout November to raise awareness for the fight against Sweden's most common cancer.

In October, DevCore gave ten thousand kronor to Neuro

Once again, we chose to donate to the Swedish Neuro Federation for their fantastic work — this time a contribution of 10,000 SEK.

About Neuro:
The Swedish Neuro Federation helps people in Sweden living with neurological diagnoses or symptoms, as well as their families. They provide information, support, and hope for the future. Their goal is for people living with neurological diagnoses to have the same opportunities and rights as everyone else, based on the principle that everyone deserves a dignified life.

Ongoing donations to the Swedish Sea Rescue Society

The Swedish Sea Rescue Society (Sjöräddningssällskapet) is a nonprofit that saves lives at sea. All rescue boats have volunteer crews ready around the clock, all year round. They handle about 90 percent of all sea rescue operations in Sweden — without government funding. The entire organization runs on donations, memberships, and volunteer efforts.

That's why we've chosen to make ongoing donations to the Sea Rescue Society.

Neuro won 10,000 in Easter money 2023

We ran a poll asking people to vote for their favorite charity. The poll opened a few days before Easter and closed after the holiday.

Neuro won the vote, which resulted in DevCore sending 10,000 SEK to Neuro as an Easter gift.

Neuro does important work for everyone affected by a neurological diagnosis (such as ALS, MS, stroke, Parkinson's, or polyneuropathy). Neuro supports and gives hope to those affected, raises funds for vital research, and drives awareness through education.

Donation for children in Ukraine

In 2022, together with our wonderful colleagues, we raised 38,500 SEK for UNICEF to support children in war-torn Ukraine. In March, the Akelius Foundation ran a campaign matching all incoming donations, bringing the final total for UNICEF to 77,000 SEK.

Warmth for Ukraine with KFUM

For our 2022 Christmas gift, we sent 10,000 SEK and warmth to Ukraine through KFUM Sweden's (YMCA Sweden) wonderful Christmas campaign.

KFUM helps young people develop and thrive through a holistic approach — physical activity and greater life skills. They have meeting places across Sweden and are part of the global YMCA movement.

Movember (Mustaschkampen)

We've taken part in Movember for many years, donating to the Swedish Prostate Cancer Federation.

In 2022, we once again donated — this time 10,000 SEK. We marked Movember all month at the office with photos, cheer, and fika (coffee breaks), and enjoyed watching several colleagues grow fine mustaches.

Volunteer work in the archipelago

DevCore spent a full day on Gällnö in the Stockholm archipelago clearing reeds — using scythes and reed rakes — together with the Archipelago Foundation and the Swedish Anglers Association. Our partner Salesforce initiated the volunteer event and invited us to take part in this great day.

Clearing reeds helps, among other things, pike reproduction, cattle grazing, and benefits both bird life and butterflies.

Fifty thousand SEK to the Swedish Prostate Cancer Federation

In 2021, we ran a LinkedIn campaign during Movember, asking people to share photos of their mustaches. This resulted in a donation of 50,000 SEK to the Swedish Prostate Cancer Federation.

In 2018, we gave 100,000 SEK as a Christmas gift. The main winner received SEK 50,000, and five additional charities shared the remaining 50,000 SEK.

One hundred thousand SEK to WWF

In 2017, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) received a donation of 100,000 SEK from us, following a poll we created where our clients, partners, and friends voted for their favorite charity with a "90-account" (a Swedish fundraising quality seal).

DevCore gave 400,000 SEK to support elephants in Africa, people in need, the sick, the homeless in Stockholm, and children facing difficulties at home.
